Ready to take the next step with trauma informed care?

The Accreditation Package

Below, you can add 7 extra trauma treatment modalities alongside your Schema Therapy foundation training with Dan Roberts.

Each accompanies 3 modules, a demonstration, and quiz to complete.

The reason we call this the Accreditation Package is because when you work through the full material, and finish each quiz, you will have more than 20 hours as a trauma informed practitioner under your belt.

Ultimately our program is accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists, and upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate due to having 20 hours of CPD learning. So by exploring these extra training modalities, you can now become CPD certified.

This is the list of the extra modalities and experts we’ve featured:

  • Internal Family Systems Psychotherapy → Dr Richard Schwartz
  • Polyvagal Theory → with Deb Dana
  • Compassion Based Therapy → with Deborah Lee
  • Somatic Experiencing Therapy → with Giselle Genillard
  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy → with Tony Buckley
  • EMDR Psychotherapy → with Dr Stephen Dansiger
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy → Dr Robyn Walser

And more detail is included here:

Training: Polyvagal Theory

With Deb Dana (£99 Value)

We’ll join Deb Dana, a licensed clinical social worker, by exploring the nervous system as a means of dealing and healing trauma.

There are 3 primary and inter-related principles of polyvagal theory, relate to our 3-part series:

  • Neuroception → How the nervous system takes in information. (30 mins, 15 secs)
  • Hierarchy → The 3 basic building blocks of the Nervous System - Ventral vagal, sympathetic and dorsal vagal systems. (34 mins, 44 secs)
  • Co-regulation →The biological imperative to be safe with others. (31 mins, 23 secs)

The demonstration and application with Deb runs for 47 minutes, and 4 seconds.

Training: Internal Family Systems Psychotherapy

With Dr Richard Schwartz (£99 Value)

We’ll join Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapy founder Dr Richard Schwartz, as he reveals the foundations of IFS.

  • Lecture 1 → Uncovering where and why extreme states show up, in contrast to the stated valuable ideal states. We examine the parts and where they sit within the client’s state. (30 mins, 24 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Discovering the part of the “Self” - a component differing from parts. Apply this with the 8 C’s of Self Leadership, and watch how the self can teach parts to heal. (29 mins, 33 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → Firstly, the liberation of parts. Secondly, truly trusting the “Self” again, against protector “parts.” Thirdly, meeting and interconnecting all parts. And fourthly, becoming self-led in both the inner and outer life of a client. (27 mins, 44 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Richard runs for 44 minutes, and 5 seconds.

Training: Somatic Experiencing Therapy

With Giselle Genillard (£99 Value)

We’ll join Giselle Genillard, by exploring the multi-layered elements of trauma stored within the body. Somatic experiencing helps clients build an increased sense of awareness to their internal experience (interoceptive, proprioceptive, and kinesthetic sensations).

  • Lecture 1 → Nervous System and Self-Healing → Here we’ll help clients “shift to the resource,” move away from the “language of the reptilian brain,” and shift from threat fixations in the body to flow. (29 mins, 27 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Trauma Events → Here we look to address the imprint of the trauma in the body and mind, and step outside that. We explore the principles of grounding, orienting and pendulation to create a settling response to any triggers. (23 mins, 28 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → Undischarged Survival Energy → We’ll learn about SIBAM (sensation, image, behaviours, affect, meaning), and how this is used to create relief in a live, or re-lived traumatic state. (35 mins, 35 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Giselle runs for 31 minutes, and 6 seconds.

Training: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Therapy

With Tony Buckley (£99 Value)

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is an experiential therapy, as opposed to cognitive therapy. This means that SP emphasises tuning into the body’s experience… rather than just focusing on the traumatic event in isolation.

  • Lecture 1 → 5 Stage Processing → We’re looking at procedural learned responses for our client, and disrupting it with 5 phases to SP, alongside a practical demonstration. (31 mins, 31 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Treatment → We look at dispersal and how the body reacts to each and every traumatic event. We take this journey and move it from stages of helplessness, to hopelessness, to empowerment. (37 mins, 24 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → Integration → An approach to trauma (overwhelming experiences)... maladaptive behaviours (childhood distress)... or attachment trauma (reptilian defenses). Our aim is to cultivate pleasure in relation to memories, its impact and future. (19 mins, 7 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Tony runs for 21 minutes, and 52 seconds.

Training: EMDR Psychotherapy

With Dr Stephen Dansiger (£99 Value)

We’ll join Dr Stephen Dansiger in pursuing trauma recovery through Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Psychotherapy (EMDR). The big movement we’ll make here is from trauma informed care, to trauma focused care.

  • Lecture 1 → Trauma Today → We deep dive into the past and future effects of trauma based on the world as it is. Looking at trauma through the healing aspects of EMDR psychotherapy, and how mindfulness progresses trauma forward. (35 mins, 13 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Mindfulness → We approach EMDR through Adaptive information processing (AIP), and wrap up with the five hindrances to change. The focus is on creating progressive trauma recovery against inertia and obstacles. (39 mins, 10 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → Deep Mechanics of EMDR → We’ll explore the triphasic modes of trauma treatment, AIP and applications, and the 8 phase protocol of using EMDR in practice, specifically… History/Treatment Plan → Prep → Assessment → Desensitisation → Installation → Body Scan → Closure → Re-evaluation. (33 mins, 47 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Stephen runs for 58 minutes, and 1 second.

Training: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

With Dr Robyn Walser (£99 Value)

We’ll join Dr Robyn Walser as we look at intervention based healings to trauma through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

This works through 3 pillars: Open → Aware → Engage… which removes a fear of the future based on events of the past.

This is achieved through 6 mini-interventions of: Present moment, defusion, acceptance, self-as-context, values and committed action. Here’s how Robyn helps us achieve this…

  • Lecture 1 → Openness → Creation of experiential contact with prior events, reshift to powerful life choices without control, and a deep dive into relational frame theory. (39 mins, 24 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Awareness → Moving into the tender topic of exposure and surfacing the traumatic event, then applying new learning in its place, and using the pillars of “Present Moment” and “Self-As-Context” to aid the client’s progress. (25 mins, 47 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → Engagement → Our aim is to move a client into a connected space relative to their future needs. That’s why we’ll deep dive into the application of “Values” and “Committed Action” to move them here. (22 mins, 49 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Robyn runs for 38 minutes, and 17 seconds.

Training: Compassion Based Therapy

With Deborah Lee (£99 Value)

Alongside Deborah, we’ll deep dive into the connection between shame and criticism, which CBT can often fall short on soothing for particular clients.

  • Lecture 1 → Deep dive into the interaction of traumatic events, inner critics, shame cycles, and stored memories. (30 mins, 24 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Creating a window of tolerance as a recovery process for trauma, dialing down internal threats, and processes for positive behaviours. (30 mins, 24 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → The 3 phases of compassion therapy: 1. Developing Stabilisation. 2. Tending to the trauma story. 3. Building life after trauma. (30 mins, 24 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Debroah runs for 34 minutes, and 23 seconds.
