Niall McKeever

Dear Mental Health Professional,

Welcome.

On this page is something we’ve carefully put together to create a new frontier of trauma informed care.

There’s no doubt in my mind or yours if you’re reading this, that trauma is a silent epidemic. Whilst voices and support grows louder…

I believe we’re only scratching the surface on awareness, treatment, and healing for clients.

Therefore, what you’ll read on this page is a new method that arms practitioners with the tools they need to bring transformation to their clients.

Our aim here is to work with trauma from the inside out and create a functional, and holistic healing process.

Done right, its aim is to rehumanise trauma.

And that begs the question, why?

The research shows us trauma is and never was one dimensional.

It’s expansive. And fluid.

When that’s the case, we need evolving tools in order to meet people like people.

So it’s the aim of this page to reveal the general methods of dealing with trauma…

And present a rehumanised way of treating and transforming with trauma.

If you’re in mental health, and interested in progressively moving your client’s healing forward… I’d love you to join me and read on today.

Aren’t We More Informed, Aware, and Conscious Than Ever Before?

Despite the good news, and the rising awareness, it hasn’t always resulted in positives.

Because now we know just how prevalent trauma is in our societies, we start to discover how it sits in the general consciousness.

For example, the words we’ll often use with clients have now become mainstream…

I mean, collectively we’re aware, but not always for the better. In fact, some cliques of society still take a hard nose approach which often affects your client’s progress:

And occasionally, we get an inside glimpse into those affected, despite the growing solutions of therapy.

So what’s the real consensus and real data behind this?

And how can we use this to make an informed decision on bettering care for clients?

The True Prevalence of Trauma in Society is like an Iceberg

It’s only in the last 20 – 30 years where trauma has come to “trend” in modern society and even mental health circles.

Since this evolution, researchers and clinicians have created multiple methods and modes of psychotherapy for treating clients.

Yet with this, the statistics behind trauma grow daily. Despite the consensus, it seems we’re underequipped.

And as we come to face the facts…

  • New research from King’s College London suggests 1 in 13 young people in the UK have had PTSD before reaching age 18.
  • In a landmark study, 7 researchers from The Lancet Psychiatry found that 31% of young people in the UK had traumatic experiences during childhood.
  • The National Council for Behavorial Health found that 70% of adults will experience traumatic events throughout their lives.
  • And worldwide, one in three people report experiencing multiple traumatic events over their lifetime.

Yet for years we’ve skirted around trauma, and dealt with the surface level factors. Even with newfound methods and research, we’re still using strategies to treat what we perceive as a one-dimensional, one-solution problem.

And in addressing that and fixing it, I believe we’ve pieced together something extremely important today.

The Internal Biologies of Trauma: We’re STILL Not Even Prepared For the Realities

Despite all this information, trauma and healing doesn’t always match the usual modes of therapy.

What’s most troubling for those working in mental health is that the symptoms and root causes of trauma often mould together.

This has the effect of often making traditional talk-based therapies a roundabout of problematic healing.

When it boils down to it, the crux of the issue is that trauma simply isn’t one-dimensional.

And the research is continuing to prove this. As a conclusion, we realise trauma is more holistic and encompassing than we knew.

That led us to a new discovery we found after bringing together leading experts in trauma-informed care.

THIS is the Biology of Trauma:

Trauma often stores in various places or containers in the body. Research shows trauma stored in:

→ The Memory
→ The Nervous System
→ The Brain and Spirit

Yet through pioneering work by leading researchers like Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine and Pat Ogden…

We learn that trauma can “integrate…” meaning it can migrate and manifest elsewhere within our clients, as they heal or regress.

For example: A traumatic experience stored in the brain from childhood, can not only affect that person’s personality, it can also show up within their overall behaviour, as well as their physical ailments, and in reaction to unrelated triggering events.

Understanding the evolving biology of trauma, shows us that we need a new model for evolving our healing strategies.

Because if all you have is hammers… then everything looks like nails

Understanding our client’s biology as they deal with trauma shows us that a holistic and evolving toolkit is required.

That’s why at the very start of this page, I put forward the point that we would rehumanise trauma. And I can say that because…

We’re seeing ever increasing evidence that talk-based therapies only meet certain requirements when it comes to evolving to our client’s trauma-based healing needs.

Moreso, in a study based out of UNSW Sydney, 106 individuals found that up to 50% of their talk therapy experience was stagnant, and did not create healing.

This study also shows why there’s a now growing fear amongst trauma sufferers, that therapy may “reactivate” the very thing it tries to solve.

Meaning not only is sensitivity, and informed-care more important than ever…

It’s clear we need an adaptive treatment plan that evolves alongside our patient. The following is based on a holistic approach to trauma care from leading experts in the space.

How we’re helping mental health professionals rehumanise trauma at its core

Now we know a multidisciplinary approach is needed based on the biology of trauma, we need to match our client’s need to evolved modes of healing.

Bringing together leading experts in various trauma informed practices such as Richard Schwartz, Deb Dana, and professor Paul Gilbert…

Our aim was to create a model – and repeatable framework – using psychotherapies that work holistically with trauma and its biology.

We came to refer to this as “Trauma Models,” which is an evolved healing framework for informed care. And it looks like this…

  • Memory → Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Psychotherapy (EMDR)
  • Nervous System → Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Therapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy
  • Brain and Spirit → IFS, Compassion Focused, and Acceptance + Commitment Therapy

As you assess a client’s progress, if trauma “integrates” and a new method of treatment is required, you can now use a consistent multidisciplinary approach based on this model.

Ultimately, this process using “Trauma Models” is about creating transformational change for your clients, when their development and biology indicates they need it.

It’s about being able to assess that, create a treatment plan, and become trauma informed through multiple different evidence-based strategies.

This is what this program is designed to do. And I’m excited to show to you not only what’s inside, but how we’re capable of bringing a framework into developmental trauma and healing.

Introducing…

The Holistic Trauma Course

If working to heal trauma and advancing your care of clients is something you’re passionate about…
Our experts, our mission, and myself are thrilled you’re here.

We’re on a mission to bring the best minds, and the leading experts to the forefront. But not only that, we’re also on a mission to help practitioners like you get the accreditation, the advice, and the information you need to create transformations for your clients.

And that’s why we’ve created The Holistic Trauma Course.

We’ve learned that we’re more aware of trauma than ever, and we’ve got many healing methodologies, yet we’ve never had a defined process for:

  • Helping practitioners become informed, fast.
  • Helping practitioners become multidisciplinary in healing.
  • Giving true insight into the holistic needs behind evolving trauma cases.

That’s what we’re delivering here. And we could not be more excited to allow you to dive into this and discover more.

Therefore not only does The Holistic Trauma Course deliver an informed overview of trauma… it deep dives into the overview, treatment, and care for your clients.

Immediately within your private member’s portal, you’ll receive access to a series of lectures that work through:

The full foundations of trauma → Becoming an informed practitioner → and full access to our Schema Therapy series.

But that last piece is particularly important

We believe schema therapy is one of the primary methods that lets mental health professionals start the process of case assessment, diagnosis and formulation.

The reason for this is because we’ve seen how talk-based therapies can potentially be ineffective at developing and evolving alongside a client’s trauma case.

And ultimately schema therapy offers a powerful, effective model for both case diagnosis and treatment as a standalone psychotherapy model. However…

It’s also an integrative model whereby many practitioners “plug in” other methods from other trauma healing practices.

This is why we believe that the concept of “Trauma Models” is vital to developmental healing.

Using schema therapy as a foundation, and continued diagnosis tool, you can select the modality that works with trauma, and will evolve with it.

This is vastly different from the traditional method of talk-based therapies and their continual cycled use.

So today within this program, you’ll receive a full overview of trauma, its development, and its treatment methodologies.

You’ll understand how to create true holistic treatment plans that work with your client’s every developing need

That’s why we believe bringing this series of work, lectures, and trainings together into a model is so important.

Through the lecture series you’ll join with Dan Roberts, we’ll begin building out a “Mode Map” that lets us identify complex traumas, and how it manifests with the healing case we build.

So as the case develops, and your client’s healing develops, you are armed to build out an integrative healing framework that their developmental need asks for.

Ultimately we believe we’ve brought together a process to assess and develop with biology based trauma for the first time ever.

For example, even if you were a practitioner of EMDR, sensorimotor psychotherapy, IFS, and CFT… by bringing together this program, we’ve brought a holistic diagnosis and methodology that maps out how and when these methods work in tandem.

Now, let’s explore how we’ll achieve this together.

Evidence based recovery tools for rehumanising trauma. Created for the first time ever

The Holistic Trauma Course comes with 3 primary modules to give you an overview, treatment, and diagnostic toolkit for understanding and treating trauma.

Right here you’ll discover what’s inside each module, and how it works for you.

Module 1: The Foundations of Trauma

£99 Value

  • Module Introduction and Overview (17 mins, 31 seconds)
  • We’ll join Mandy Davis, a licensed clinical social worker, and dive into…
  • The true and simple definition of trauma, and how it should inform your care work
  • The 4 “R’s” to building an inclusive and safe treatment plan for trauma transformation
  • How to avoid re-traumatisation in your work by watching the activation of the original overload and stress system.
  • The 5 Components of Trauma Informed Care (13 mins, 5 seconds)
  • Why an individual’s identity is often the result of trauma, and how we can help our client preserve and build that
  • Questions you can ask to immediately lower your client’s resistance to treatment and care (Mandy walks you through this 5 minutes, and 10 seconds in)
  • An introduction to “N.E.A.R.” Science: Neurobiology, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Resilience
  • The Principles & Values of Trauma Informed Care (13 mins, 3 seconds)
  • Why the principles of safety, power, and value help you modify your approach to treating and transforming trauma
  • The one thing that’s critical to get your client to consistently engage in treatment
  • If you want to become trauma informed, you need to learn to put a “lens” over silence. Mandy works you through that 7 minutes into lecture 3.

Module 2: Working as a Trauma Informed
Practitioner: Best Practices

£99 Value

We’ll join Christiane Sanderson, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Roehampton, as we work through a 3 part lecture series. Including…

  • Lecture 1: The Trauma Informed Practice Model (22 mins, 21 seconds)
  • The fight, flight, and freeze response to trauma, and how it manifests into a continual overwhelmed or dissociative state
  • Understanding the impact of the self and relationships in reaction to trauma, and how can result in continued traumatic responses
  • How to critically distinguish between personality disorder as a result of trauma, and adaptive survival techniques
  • Lecture 2: The 3 Phased Model Approach to Trauma Care (25 mins, 51 seconds)
  • How the 3-phase approach helps clients develop “distress tolerance,” allowing them to build a wider range of feelings and emotions, without breaching into dissociative states
  • What the primary signals are that a client is ready to process the traumatic experiences and begin healing
  • Phases and techniques that can be enacted in group work, and why differing environments can empower your client in healing
  • Lecture 3: Internal and External Skills and Competencies (1hour, 3 minutes)
  • Develop a series of internal and external focuses that bring reflection and pace to traumatic recall, instead of trying to rush through and ignore the healing
  • Understanding everything that goes into sensory awareness, and how relaxation can actually retrigger a client. Christiane shows principles to avoid this.
  • How to build your own recovery toolkit - as well as what’s inside Christiane’s.

Module 3: Schema Therapy

With Dan Roberts (£99 Value)

We’ll join Dan Roberts in pursuing trauma recovery through schema therapy.

This series is a true introduction into complex trauma, and the model of adapting to your client’s differing needs. We’ll look at the formation of trauma, the diagnosis of treatment, and the path forward.

  • Lecture 1 → Origins → A deep dive introduction into schema therapy, the 18 kinds of schemas, and our vulnerable child. Dan shows us the relationship between schemas, modes, the self… and how to form a healing roadmap. (37 mins, 28 secs)
  • Lecture 2 → Nervous System Regulation → We’ll approach ways of bringing safety to our clients by avoiding triggers, and bringing trust through boundaries. Dan delves into windows of tolerance, authenticity, and limited reparenting to build trust. (28 mins, 56 secs)
  • Lecture 3 → True Trauma Processing → We’ll look into memory processing to help heal the overarching schema and bring positive change into your client’s day-to-day experiences. We’ll also look at experiential techniques to work with the inner child. (36 mins, 21 secs)

Our demonstration and application with Dan runs for 29 minutes, and 38 seconds.

Any mental health professional looking to become fully trauma-informed can do that right alongside us. However that’s just the start with The Holistic Trauma Course.

You’ll discover the plethora of healing methodologies inside, as well as a diagnosis plan through schema therapy, and the path to creating holistic treatment for your client.

Often modules, courses, or trainings like this are multiple day immersive training plans, usually followed with a high priced tag. But we’ve decided against that.

Because if you add up all the elements you’ll receive today, it’s a full training course that we plan to release publicly later in the year.

We will also pull each module separately and make them available at their respective £99 prices.

However we believe it takes all three in sync to build the level of planning and informed-care that’s required.

Added to that, over the next handful of days, all three modules are available for less than the cost of one.

That’s why we’re so excited to release this and deliver this to mental health professionals who recognise the need for fully trauma-informed care.

It also means until that timer above ends, the investment in this evidence-based program is only £49.

From the 27th June until 2nd July (Monday to Saturday), entry fees are open with 83% off

Take part in the program now

P.P.S. - Why this program is split into different sections

The foundation of holistic trauma is always going to revolve around deeply understanding the basics, diving into advances in informed care, and studying the foundational psychotherapy that binds the model together.

In this instance, that module is schema therapy. And we believe it is so foundational, that this series should be reviewed first before any other.

That’s why the course is split into two sections.

Firstly → Our foundational modules.

Secondly → Our advanced treatment modules, which also offers the full accreditation package.

The byproduct of this has the effect, makes the program more affordable. Instead of a large bulk cost for all contained modules, you can proceed through the program in a way that makes best use of your schedule and budget.

As there is a raised standard in the cost of living right now, I do not want to raise the rates of the course. So we’ve endeavoured to offset this as much as possible. And hopefully you’ll find this works for you.
