(This accredited course is 40p per day, broken down over the course of a year.)
Welcome.
On this page is something we’ve carefully put together to create a new frontier of trauma informed care.
There’s no doubt in my mind (or yours) if you’re reading this, that trauma is a silent epidemic.
Whilst voices and support grows louder…
I believe we’re only scratching the surface on awareness, treatment, and healing for clients.
Therefore, what you’ll read on this page is a new method that equips practitioners with the tools they’ll need to bring transformation to their clients.
Our aim here is to work with trauma from the inside out and create a functional and holistic healing process.
Done right, its aim is to rehumanise trauma.
And that begs the question, why?
The research shows us trauma isn’t one dimensional.
It’s expansive. It’s fluid.
When that’s the case, we need evolving tools in order to treat people like the whole human beings they are.
So it’s the aim of this course to bring together the most effective, evidence-based methods of dealing with trauma…
And introduce a re-humanised way of treating and transforming it.
If you’re interested in progressively moving your clients’ healing forward… I’d love you to join me and read on today.
Our rising awareness of the impact of trauma hasn’t always resulted in positive outcomes.
Because we now know just how prevalent trauma is in our society, we’re starting to understand how it sits in the general consciousness.
For example, the words we use to describe it have now become mainstream.

I mean, collectively we’re aware, but not always for the better. In fact, some cliques of society still take a “hard nose” approach which can often negatively affect trauma survivors:

And occasionally, we get an inside glimpse into those affected, despite the growing solutions of therapy.

So what’s the real consensus and real data behind this?
And how can we use this to make an informed decision on bettering care for clients?
It’s only in the last 20 – 30 years that trauma has come to “trend” in modern society and even in mental health circles.
Since this evolution, researchers and clinicians have created multiple methods and modes of psychotherapy for treating clients.
Even so, the statistics behind trauma grow daily. Despite the consensus, it seems we’re under-equipped.
And as we come to face the facts…
Yet for years we’ve skirted around trauma and dealt with it only at a surface level. Even with newfound methods and research, we’re still using strategies to treat what we perceive as a one-dimensional problem.
And in addressing that, I believe we’ve pieced together something extremely important today.
Despite all of this information, trauma and healing isn’t always compatible with traditional forms of therapy.
What’s most troubling for those working in mental health is that the symptoms and root causes of trauma often “mould” together.
This has the effect of often making traditional talk-based therapies a roundabout of problematic healing.
When it boils down to it, the crux of the issue is that trauma simply isn’t one-dimensional.
And the research is continuing to prove this.
We’re starting to realise that trauma is more holistic and encompassing than we previously thought.
That led us to a new discovery we found after bringing together leading experts in trauma-informed care.
Trauma often stores in various places or “containers” in the body. Research shows trauma is stored in:
→ Memories
→ The Nervous System
→ The Brain
Through the pioneering work of researchers like Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, and Pat Ogden…
We learn that trauma can “integrate…” meaning it can migrate and manifest elsewhere within our clients, as they heal or regress.
For example: A traumatic experience stored in the brain from childhood, not only can affect that person’s personality, it can also show up in their behaviour, as well as physical ailments, and in reaction to unrelated triggering events.
Understanding the evolving biology of trauma, shows us that we need a new model for evolving our healing strategies.
Understanding our client’s biology as they deal with trauma shows us that a holistic and evolving toolkit is required.
That’s why at the very start of this page, we put forward the point that we would rehumanise trauma.
And we can say that because…
We’re seeing increasing evidence that talk-based therapies are ineffective when it comes to healing trauma.
A study of 106 individuals based out of UNSW Sydney for example, found that up to 50% of their talk therapy experience was stagnant, and did not create healing.
This study also shows why there’s now growing fear amongst trauma sufferers, that therapy may “reactivate” the very thing it tries to solve.
Meaning not only is sensitivity and informed-care more important than ever…
It’s clear we need an adaptive treatment plan that evolves alongside our patient. What follows is based on a holistic approach to trauma care from leading experts in the space.
Now that we know a multidisciplinary approach is needed based on the biology of trauma, we need to match our clients’ needs to evolved modes of healing.
Bringing together leading experts in various trauma-informed practices such as Richard Schwartz, Deb Dana, and Dr Deborah Lee…
Our aim was to create a model – and repeatable framework – using psychotherapies that work holistically with trauma and its biology.
We came to refer to this as “Trauma Models,” which is an evolved healing framework for informed care.
And it looks like this…
As you assess a client’s progress, if trauma “integrates” and a new method of treatment is required, you can now use a consistent multidisciplinary approach based on this model.
Ultimately, this process using “Trauma Models” is about creating transformational change for your clients, when their development and biology indicates they need it.
It’s about being able to assess, create a treatment plan, and become trauma-informed through multiple different evidence-based strategies.
This is what this program is designed to do. And we’re excited to show to you not only what’s inside, but how we’re capable of bringing a framework into developmental trauma and healing.
Introducing…
We’re on a mission to make the best minds and cutting edge research more accessible. But not only that, we’re also on a mission to help practitioners, like you, get the accreditation, the advice, and the information you need to create transformation for your clients.
And that’s why we’ve created The Holistic Trauma Course.
We’ve learned that we’re more aware of trauma than ever, and we’ve got many healing methodologies, but we’ve never had a defined process for:
That’s what we’re delivering here. And we could not be more excited to allow you to dive into this and discover more.
Therefore not only does The Holistic Trauma Course deliver an informed overview of trauma… it deep dives into the overview, treatment, and care for your clients.
Within your private member’s portal, you’ll receive access to a series of lectures that work through:
The full foundations of trauma → Becoming an informed practitioner → our Schema Therapy series → 7 Healing Modalities.
We believe schema therapy is one of the primary methods that lets mental health professionals effectively transform trauma.
It offers a powerful, effective model for both case diagnosis and treatment as a standalone psychotherapy model. However…
It’s also integrative in that it enables practitioners to “plug in” methods from other trauma healing practices.
This is also why we believe that the concept of “Trauma Models” is vital to effective healing.
Using schema therapy as a foundational and ongoing diagnosis tool enables you to select the modality that treats the client’s needs as their situation develops.
This is vastly different from the traditional method of talk-based therapies and their continual cycled use.
So today within this program, you’ll receive a full overview of trauma, its development, and its treatment methodologies.
That’s why bringing this series of trainings together into a model is so important.
Through the lecture series with Dan Roberts, you’ll begin building out a “Mode Map” that lets you identify complex traumas and how they manifest with your clients.

So, as the case develops and your client’s healing progresses, you’ll be able to build out an integrative healing framework that their particular situation requires.
Now, let’s explore how this course will help you achieve this.
The Holistic Trauma Course comes with 10 primary modules to give you an overview, treatment, and diagnostic toolkit for understanding and treating trauma.
Below you’ll discover what’s inside each module, and how it works for you.
We’ll join Christiane Sanderson, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Roehampton, as we work through a 3 part lecture series. Including…
We’ll join Dan Roberts in pursuing trauma recovery through schema therapy.
This series is a true introduction into complex trauma and the model of adapting to your client’s unique needs. We’ll look at the formation of trauma, the diagnosis of treatment, and the path forward.
Our demonstration and application with Dan runs for 29 minutes, and 38 seconds.
We’ll join Deb Dana, a licensed clinical social worker, by exploring the nervous system as a means of healing trauma.
At a high level, the aim of polyvagal theory in therapy is to create a “feeling safe enough to fall in love with life and take the risks of living.” By understanding the disruption of connection within the nervous system, we can empower clients to become active operators of their autonomic system.
There are 3 primary and inter-related principles of polyvagal theory, related to our 3-part series:
The demonstration and application with Deb runs for 47 minutes, and 4 seconds.
We’ll join Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapy founder Dr Richard Schwartz, as he reveals the foundations of IFS. You’ll discover the existence of a client’s internal “parts” that tend towards intensifying traumatic experiences…
You’ll learn how these “parts” form and flow – from valuable states to extreme roles, with the multiple personalities that make up a person.
Here’s what you’ll discover in this module..
Our demonstration and application with Richard runs for 44 minutes, and 5 seconds.
This module from Giselle Genillard – a leading SE practitioner and teacher, will explore the multi-layered elements of trauma stored within the body. Somatic experiencing helps clients build an increased sense of awareness to their internal experience (interoceptive, proprioceptive, and kinesthetic sensations).
Because trauma can diminish life experiences, we gradually increase the resilience clients feel when dealing with their experiences and approaching the future. Here’s how…
Our demonstration and application with Giselle runs for 31 minutes, and 6 seconds.
We’ll join Tony Buckley who highlights how the body’s experiences of trauma can be a primary entry point for treating a client’s issues.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is an experiential therapy, as opposed to cognitive therapy. This means that SP emphasises tuning into the body’s experience… rather than just focusing on the traumatic event in isolation.
As trauma is frequently stored in the body, we create interventions that target the neurobiological and physical, as opposed to more traditional cognitive approaches. Here’s how we’ll do this…
Our demonstration and application with Tony runs for 21 minutes, and 52 seconds.
We’ll join Dr Stephen Dansiger in pursuing trauma recovery through Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Psychotherapy (EMDR). The big movement we’ll make here is from trauma informed care, to trauma focused care.
This series is a particular study on the pre and post covid world… alongside a deep dive into traumatic events and how they are ‘stored’.
History/Treatment Plan → Prep → Assessment → Desensitisation → Installation → Body Scan → Closure → Re-evaluation. (33 mins, 47 secs)
Our demonstration and application with Stephen runs for 58 minutes, and 1 second.
We’ll join Dr Robyn Walser as we look at healing trauma through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
This works through 3 pillars: Open → Aware → Engage… which removes a fear of the future based on events of the past.
This is achieved through the 6 mini-interventions of psychological flexibility, including: Present moment, defusion, acceptance, self-as-context, values and committed action. Here’s how Robyn helps us achieve this…
Our demonstration and application with Robyn runs for 38 minutes, and 17 seconds.
We’ll join Deborah Lee, a consultant clinical psychologist, head of the national treatment centre for PTSD in the UK, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in clinical psychology at UCL.
We’ll deep dive into the connection between shame and criticism, which CFT can often falls short in helping particular clients.
By looking at the rational and emotional brain, we can create a soothing and positive emotional response for reactions to traumatic events and experiences. Here’s how we’ll do this…
Our demonstration and application with Deborah runs for 1 hour, 7 minutes and 43 seconds.
If you join the Holistic Trauma Course, you’ll take part in a live cohort alongside fellow mental health professionals who are committed to being at the forefront of trauma-informed care.
Each week, we’ll have a live experiential and discussion session, where you can get your questions answered, engage in experiential exercises, and discuss the key takeaways from that week’s module of the course.

So there’s…
If all we have is a hammer, and everything looks like a nail… then we’re going to be very limited in our capacity to heal trauma.
The more we learn about it, and its manifestation in the body and mind… the more we realise that a holistic, multidisciplinary approach is required.
One that accounts for the whole person; mind, brain, body and spirit.
Moreover, trauma work needs to be tailored to each individual’s unique situation, at that particular moment in time, with their needs, in ways that progress them forward.
That’s why we believe that it’s vital for anyone working with trauma to be armed with a wide range of tools and methods.
It’s also why we’ve gone to great lengths to bring together ten world leading experts (from a wide range of disciplines) within this course.
So that those who take this training will be at the forefront of their field, and equipped with the latest science-based strategies for healing and transforming trauma.
